Navigating the God-Change Part 2
In last month’s newsletter, I began writing about the God-changes taking place in the world at this time. Yes, Satan is stealing, killing, and destroying, but much of the opposition we are experiencing at this moment in the church world is from God Himself. He is resisting our pride and arrogance that has settled into our hearts in the American church, which thinks the entire world revolves around the USA.
God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. James 4:6
We have discussed some of the following God changes that are currently in the works:
1. God is wanting to establish Apostolic Training Centers instead of more churches copying what other churches are doing… to keep up with the latest trends in the Christian marketplace.
2.God is putting a demand we find our spiritual father/mother and connect in a deeper way.
This sounds foreign to Americans who have developed more of a “company” or “denominational mindset” concerning accountability, integrity, and the building of character in men & women. Fellowships that operate more like a family are receiving a fresh touch of God’s Spirit that will continue to raise up sons and daughters who will continue the legacy of the true Gospel ministry.
3.We are to honor the past, not worship the past.
4.We are in the midst of a “merging of ministries” that will increase our outreach, footprint, and ability to gather the harvest God wants to give us.
Anytime God begins to institute changes in the Body of Christ, we would do good to put the following in practice:
1. Stay open for direction & correction from the Word of God, not words of men.
History proves time & again that the majority doesn’t always know or operate with the mind of the Lord.
Psalms 1:1-3 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. KJV
Some people will never receive God’s changes because they feel like they know (without praying and seeking God) what is right. They are not open to God revealing any new direction for their lives.
I’m not trying to preach new doctrine…new Gospel…but no matter how smart we are, and no matter how many times God has spoken to us, we DO NOT know everything there is to know about God, His Word, or His Spirit.
We must constantly ask ourselves, “are we walking according to the Words of God or the traditions men have taught us?”
2. Check your hunger level. Hungry people don’t have to be begged to come to the Lord’s table. The Word is still true: Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Matthew 5:6
3. We MUST respond to the drawing of the Holy Ghost.
John 6:37 All that the Father gives to me shall come to me: and him that comes to me I will in no wise cast out.
44. No man can come to me except the Father which has sent me draw him…
Sadly, every time a Gospel message is preached, many refuse to respond to that message. Every Sunday, in every church worldwide, people have learned how to resist both the message and the messenger. Don’t resist what God wants to do in your life. And I sincerely pray that we, as the body of Christ in this nation, will not resist the Holy Spirit in this defining moment of time.
