Welcome to a new season!
Fall is now in full swing in the Northern Hemisphere (spring is in full swing for all our readers in the Southern Hemisphere), and God is moving mightily for His people.
In September our Jewish friends celebrated Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and the Feast of Tabernacles. This time of the year for them is called the head of the year. Many Messianic Jewish believers are calling this New Year the Year of the Open Door…with Narrow Openings. When I read this it bore witness in my spirit and the Holy Spirit exploded some things in my heart I want to share.
In Matthew 7, Jesus tells us that we must enter in at the strait (narrow) gate and narrow is the way that leads to life. Sadly Jesus also said few will find true life because of the narrowness of the way.
The year of the open door with narrow openings tells me there are some things we may be holding on to that we must not…we cannot take with us into the next season of our lives.
For many people, relationships have been a hindrance in their walk with Jesus. There are some people that will be in your lives forever. Your spouse, children, parents and a few select friends will be a part of your life until you die or Jesus takes you to heaven.
Then there are some relationships that are only for a season. One of the most damaging things we do in our walk with God is try to make seasonal people permanent fixtures.
Then there are some people that will move in and out of your life at different seasons as you need the gift in them and as they need the gift in you. This is part of the narrow openings God is speaking of. There are some relationships that cannot go with you into your next season in God. This doesn’t mean they have become evil, nor does it mean that you are now super spiritual and don’t need them. It’s simply means it’s time for a new season!
The next thing that cannot go into this next season is baggage that satan has heaped into your life. Satan has used failure, fear, anxiety, fleshly discontent (and much more) to sow such distractions into our lives we can’t focus on the prophetic promises God has made to us, and the work God has called us to do.
I have never seen God’s people under attack like they have been in this past season. But just as the military understands a soldier cannot stay on the field of battle indefinitely without some rest, God recognizes His people need a season of rest and breakthrough.
I know what some are thinking: Copeland, that’s easy for you to say, you are not going through what I am going through! True. But the same God that rested upon Peter’s life and caused his shadow to heal the sick as he walked by them, also led the same Peter to say in 1 Peter 5:6,7
“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon Him; for He cares for you.”
It’s a new season. The year of the open door…but narrow openings. Let go of all the things God has been dealing with you to release. On the other side of this opening is a new and fresh anointing.
Ministry News
On October 28 we will lead our next team trip to Kenya for the 2nd Kilgoris Fire Conference. Last year we saw over 60 different denominational groups come together for a time of teaching, preaching and impartation. I know many of you have seen the news concerning the attack of the mall in Nairobi. Your prayers are appreciated that we will be able to conduct this conference and city-wide crusade and see many souls come to Jesus.
Our next Pastors Training in Kenya will be held December 9-14. In 2014 we will begin offering a degree level teaching and training in conjunction with our quarterly leadership training in Kilgoris. We will also be expanding our conference & crusade ministry into others cities across Kenya. We have a tremendous open door for ministry in the country and we must seize this moment while we have it. Thank you for praying for us that we will move into the right areas that are ready to receive our part of the Great Commission.
We are still working toward expanding our TV outreach here in the East Alabama area and also working to make it available across the country. We are also experiencing a marked increase in hunger and passion for Jesus in revival meetings across the US. I know God is preparing us for another Great Awakening.
Your prayers and especially your financial support is deeply appreciated. I say it often, but it comes from a sincere heart. Pam and I know you can support many, many worthy ministries that are doing a tremendous Kingdom work for Jesus. We are grateful God has spoken to you to support us with your special love gifts. Together, souls are being brought to Jesus, believers are being encouraged and lifted to a higher level, pastors are being equipped and encouraged and Jesus is being made famous in our lives.
Thank you for believing in and supporting our part of the Great Commission.
