Happy New Year! And what a wonderful Heavenly Father we have!

Pam and I returned home from Kenya East Africa on December 17th, and like many of you threw ourselves head first into the Holiday preparations. We had a wonderful visit with our kids and grandkids, and for Christmas we were given the news that another grandchild is on the way! Missy and David are expecting Baby Russell #2 sometime in August. As many of you know, they serve at National Community Church in Washington DC with Pastor Mark Batterson.

Megan and Eric and their family are also doing well; not expecting any more additions at this time! They are serving with us in various capacities here in the ministry and Megan is also completing her studies in cosmetology at Southern Union State in Opelika, Alabama. Of course, Pam and I still have the most beautiful grandchildren on the planet!

As we enter 2009, we enter the year with great uncertainty many areas of the nation and world are in pure chaos! But I’m glad God is God over all chaos! I do not claim to be a prophet or a prognosticator. As I have been praying for this New Year several things stand out to me I want to bring to you this month:

1. An element of judgment is being released on both the church and the world. This judgment is meant to corrective by the Lord if we will take heed to His Word and bring ourselves in alignment with Him. Peter tells us judgment must begin at the House of God; but also, the Word states if we will judge ourselves, we won’t be judged! This judgment is also going to release a flood of mercy and great grace on those who will simply allow God to give them a “course correction”.  There will continue to be upheaval in the financial markets, but those who put their trust in the Lord will experience a provision that is truly supernatural!

Psa 9:7 But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.
Psa 9:8 And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.
Psa 9:9 The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
Psa 9:10 And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

2. A greater call from the Holy Spirit to help the poor and needy is being released in 2009. Jesus said we would have the poor with us always, and there would always be opportunities to bless people. Part of the exposure of corruption on Wall Street is from the Lord as a sign to the Church to get our act cleaned up! Get rid of the greed! A cry for social justice is manifesting in the church from the next generation. This coupled with a fresh move of the Spirit will show us how to bring it about and will come in greater measure in 2009.

Psa 9:15 The heathen are sunk down in the pit [that] they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.
Psa 9:16 The LORD is known [by] the judgment [which] he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.
Psa 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, [and] all the nations that forget God.
Psa 9:18 For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall [not] perish for ever.

3. The fresh move of the Holy Spirit that began among the youth and young adults in 2008 will increase in 2009. Man put his hands on what God was doing this year and somewhat hindered…but it will not stop God from moving in 2009! God is raising up men and women who will not touch His Glory and will not try to use the move of the Spirit as a marketing ploy to raise money! The world is crying out for the real Church of Jesus Christ to please stand up!!!!!

Now God is not about to send lightning bolts from heaven to strike men down; He is sending forth His call for us to make sure we are in line with His Word; and those who are will experience the greatest year of forward progress we have enjoyed in our lives and in our ministries!

Pam and I want to thank everyone who remembered us during the Holidays. Your cards, letters and gifts were a tremendous blessing to us this year! To all our partners and faithful supporters, we cannot do what we do without your help! We feel God is calling and opening the doors for us to spend more time outside the U.S in overseas ministry in 2009. We can only do that as He provides the funds to do that. And He uses people just like you!

Thank you for listening to His voice. And thank you for your obedience to His voice!

Blessings,
David & Pam
