“This is a test! For the next 60 seconds, this station will conduct a test of the Emergency Broadcast System. I repeat this is only a test.”
I can remember as a kid one of the first times I heard this test come across the TV channel I was watching. It somewhat frightened me, so I asked my Mom what it meant, and she told me this would be the way the President would notify the nation should a nuclear war would occur. I also remember during the height of the Cold War with the then Soviet Union, we would have special drills at School on where to go and what to do in the event of a nuclear attack.
With the spread of COVID-19 touching every nation of the world, I remembered these events from my childhood this past week. This pandemic we are experiencing is really a test for the entire world to see where we are in our walk with Jesus.
Sadly, even many Christians I know have failed the test. They are allowing fear and unbelief to wreck them and control how they are looking at life now as we enter April 2020.
I have been preaching since last year that God was speaking to me about 2020 being a continuing season of a reset. 2020 is another year of reset. The Hebrews are beginning their 19-year cycle of years again. The world will truly never be the same again. The church will never be the same again! Now is our season to shine forth with faith and with hope in the midst of so much darkness.
What will be the outcome of all this chaos and confusion that is literally touching every nation on the earth? No one really knows for sure, but these are two things that can happen in the coming days:
1.The church will shrink back into hiding. If the church shrinks back in fear and fails to offer solid Biblical hope and healing during this world-wide crisis, it will create a vacuum for the antichrist spirit to sweep in and take over. The power of the Holy Spirit working through the true Church of Jesus Christ, for two thousand years has been that restraining force that has kept the anti-christ spirit from taking over the world. 1 Thessalonians 2:7,8…
“7 For the [d]mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only [e]He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.” NKJV
Again, the power of God working through the ecclesia, the called-out ones, the true Church of the Lord Jesus Christ has been the restraining force holding back the anti-christ spirit from prevailing for the last two thousand years.
2.The Church will rise up in faith and in Holy Spirit Power!
This is what I truly believe will happen. The church IS going to arise stronger than ever before. While I am not trying to be negative, this is how I see this event will play out:
a.When all the restrictions on group gatherings are lifted, many churches and ministries will immediately go back to exactly what they were doing. Nothing will change. They will be excited the first two weeks back at church, then they will revert back to the same voiceless, powerless, faithless community organization they were before COVID-19 struct.
b.Some churches and ministries will close for good. There won’t even be enough people who will come back to keep the electricity on. This is very sad.
c.Many churches and ministries will arise and press into what God wants done in this next season of time. We know we can no longer do church the way we have always done it. People are hurting and crying out for the real Church of Jesus Christ to please stand up! God is creating a new wineskin that will form with the power of the Holy Spirit that will help us reap the end time harvest!
May God raise up many with the faith of John G. Lake who allowed doctors to put the bubonic plague in his hand and these same doctors watched under a microscope as the disease died in his hands. Many will raise up and say yes to the calling of God to go to the nations with the love of God. May God continue to raise up men and women all across this world who are not in the ministry for fame or fortune but want to be a channel for the love of God and the grace of God to touch other people’s lives. May God raise up old people…as well as young people who are full of faith and the fire of the Holy Spirit that will preach the Gospel, the Good News without fear knowing…
The next thing God does is always greater than the last thing He did!
