Three Things Revival Brings

We ended last week in revival at Smiths Alabama at Fellowship Assembly of God. The intensity level of the Spirit was literally overwhelming at times. God truly does continue to brood over His people that will let Him!

While on the way to church Friday night to close out revival services the Holy Spirit dropped three things revival brings into my heart:

First, Revival brings fresh conviction of the Holy Ghost! Many times we as preachers are guilty of simply preaching our convictions. I had a guy talk to me in the parking lot of the mall recently and he kept telling me over and over "…I don't believe in this and I don't believe in this…and further more, I'll tell you what else I don't believe in…"

When the Word of God is preached, the conviction of the Holy Ghost comes with it! We don't have to press the people, the Holy Ghost will do it for us! But revival is a time for the convicting power of the Holy Ghost to wake up in our lives that we have been able to somewhat silence…

Second, Revival releases fresh consecration. The convicting power of the Holy Ghost ALWAYS leads us to a fresh consecration of our lives to God! In fact conviction is the consecrating agent in the sanctification process. It's obvious by the news reports over the last couple of weeks, many in the ministry have lost their consecration to God and are now more interested in money, houses and jet airplanes and selling their books and tapes than truly leading people into a deeper walk with Jesus! No wonder the world scoff at us!

Thirdly, revival will lead us to a place of fresh commitment! That's a ten letter word many in my generation does not want to hear! No commitment to marriage, no commitment to a job, no commitment to finishing school…and no commitment to God or the house of God! But every true revival I have ever been in, my commitment to God and even to the house of God was always increased!

Thank you to all true God called pastors who are being faithful in a day in which many Christians are not! Your faithfulness and perseverance will bring you to a place of refreshing and revival! Better yet, a great awakening!

Pray for us as we are currently in SW Alabama in a community called Grove Hill, approximately 100 miles due north of Mobile in revival meetings…Carl, I wish you were here is all I can say!!!!!
