Revival Continues!

David Copeland October 19, 2006 9:59 am

We are continuing into our fourth week of revival meetings in Samson, Alabama at New Life Worship Center. The Spirit of God has moved mightily this week. Backsliders have repented, people have rededicated their lives to the Lord, the Gifts of the Spirit have been in operation powerfully, and we give God all the Glory!

Last week the Lord dropped the passage in Isaiah 55:8-11

Isa 55:8 For my thoughts [are] not your thoughts, neither [are] your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
Isa 55:9 For [as] the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Isa 55:10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
Isa 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper [in the thing] whereto I sent it.

Election years always bring out the best in people (just kidding) Most of what you hear from all sides is rhetoric…saying whatever you have to in order to get elected. With all the voices speaking at you on TV it's hard to decide who is right and who is wrong!
In this mix, God is also speaking to His people! Our challenge is to reach past what people are saying to hear what the spirit is saying! At least twenty-five times in the New Testament, the Word declares, "He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."

God is speaking to the Church! He is calling us to genuine repentance! Yes, He has given us some major successes; but we are not touching the world like we could be, or should be, but I want to tell you, we are going to touch the world with who we are going to be!

The key to successfully touching this world with the Gospel is found in verse 11: it's the word that comes our of God's mouth! The rhema! When we hear God make a passage real to our spirit, it will:

1. Accomplish or produce
2. Prosper
3. Create a path for us to walk straight with God (vs. 12)
4. It will cause great joy! (Trees capping and singing)

As I always state, the days of revival are not over! If I had time today I would discuss the face of revival, but I don't have time just now as we are traveling home in a little while. I do want to say, the face of revival may look different from place to place, region to region; but it will always produce the same results: changed lives and all Glory given to God!
