Respect The Anointing

This past Sunday, I had the opportunity to preach at the church I pastored for many years, Evangel Temple in Lanett. There was a sweet Spirit there that prevailed throughout the service. The church has literally been through the valley of the shadow of death…but I believe it will pull through.

Sunday night, I had the honor of preaching a Pastor Appreciation Day For Pastor Auzzie and Cheryl Comer at New Life Christian Center in Opelika. This church has been partnering with us since our launch into itinerant ministry in 2001. As the worship began, two thoughts dropped in my spirit:

1. It is no secret there is a freedom to worship and preach in the African-American community that is not prevalent in most white churches. The reason is they have a sensitivity to the Holy Spirit we don't have;

2. And they have a respect for both the ministry office as well as the moving of the Spirit many white churches don't have. I know this may not be everywhere; but it's been the case everywhere I've been!

If we want God to move in our services and in our lives we must develop a greater sensitivity to the what the Spirit wants to do and leave our agendas at home; and respect the moving of the Spirit at every time and in whatever way He choses!

I believe we will then see the Glory of the Lord cover the earth as the waters cover the sea!
