National Day of Prayer

While I praise God for all He has allowed Pam and I to see the first four months of this year, I think it is fitting to take a moment on this National Day of Prayer and focus on need for repentance for our entire nation!

2Ch 7:13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;
2Ch 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

This is STILL a right now word for the American Church!

I am fully aware America is not perfect; the American Church is no where near what she should be or could be; may I remind you she is not what she is going to be!

I have surfed around many websites criticizing and attempting correct many people's doctrine and the way the run their ministries. Let me state emphatically we must contend for CORRECT, sound doctrine when it comes to Christianity! But if we would focus on 2 Chronicles 7:13 and 14, the Holy Ghost would bring the correction to us without someone have to be the scripture police!

I had what I would call a mini vision a couple of years ago while in Bedford Indiana at Tabernacle of Praise. While in the prayer room for pre-service prayer, The Holy Spirit showed me two streams merging together and becoming one larger river. The Lord showed me one stream represented the Pentecostal move; it has always been known for strong preaching, experiencing the Baptism in the Holy Spirit and integrity of the scriptures. The other stream represented the Charismatic move; it has been known for strong worship, teaching of the Word and experiencing the supernatural. While there has been extreme legalism at times on one side, and extreme goofiness at times of the other; God wants to bring a merging of the streams together that will bring a balance to the Spirit Filled movement of today!

As we pray for our country today (and every day for that matter), may we seek God to raise up the leaders He desires us to have; may they have a heart for God and the things of God; and if they do not currently have that, may our Father give that to them! May God raise up people of integrity and honor both in every facet of the political realm as well and may God give us apostles, prophets, evangelists pastors and teachers after HIS HEART and not after THEIR carnal agenda!!
