March Revival Update

We continue this week in revival meetings in Pulaski, Virginia where the Spirit of the Lord is moving in a mighty way!

Pastor Carson Linkous said something on Sunday night I have said many times, but it came alive in a greater way. He said, "It's not wrong to do things to get closer to God!" To some that may be a silly statement; it's not wrong to do things to get closer to God! The question is what are we doing to get closer to God?

Pastoring for many years, I almost came to the conclusion that it was a waste of time to have revival meetings, because people seemed to be disinterested in attending. But as my own heart has cried out for opportunities to seek God, I realize it is not wrong to deliberately have meetings in which people come together for the express purpose of getting closer to God!

James says it like this: Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. (James 4:8)

Webster's Dictionary states evangelism is the winning or revival of personal commitments to Christ. Revival is also a bringing back from the dead.

What are you doing to draw closer to the Lord? You can complain all day and all night; but it's up to you to decide how close you really want to be! Your desire is the key to the next season of great blessings from the Lord! When you desire Him, and go out of your way to get closer to Him, He will go out of His way to get closer to you!
