Laws of Revival 2

Our first night back in Samson was a Holy Ghost blow-out! The Presence of God was drawing people to Jesus so powerfully! It was awesome!

I stated the other day, I have been reading this week a book published in 1909 written by James Burns titled The Laws of Revival. It's message is so timely, I was amazed it wasn't printed in 2006!

One of the paragraphs that stood out to me was a reference to Wales and the revival that took place around 1904. Wales was on fire for God during that time period and God had raised up a young man by the name of Evan Roberts to turn the tide of revival.

There was a special characteristic of those meetings: there was little preaching-mostly singing, testimonies and prayer. There were no hymnbooks, no offerings and no advertisement. But everybody sang. History records there were more songs composed than sermons delivered. The focus was on getting close to God and He drew all people unto Himself!

Please understand, I am all about preaching! I never try to miss an opportunity to preach the Gospel! I am troubled though at our praying and crying out for God to come and move among His people, then when He shows up, we refuse to let Him do what He has come to do! Because the way God moves sometimes makes us feel awkward!
God is moving! Open up your hearts and your lives and your churches and truly let Him do what He has come to do! To seek and save the lost! And bring His children closer to Himself!
