Kilgoris Kenya Report Number 1

David Copeland December 4, 2011 12:04 pm

The Jesus Victors Lolgorian Maasai Conference ended today with the rain of the Holy Spirit falling!

I had my message (or what I thought was the message the Lord wanted me to minister) all set. But when we arrived at the venue, I noticed the dark clouds swirling around and thought I really hope we can get this meeting in before the rains come again.

Immediately my mind went to Psalms 68:7-11

7O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah:
8The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.
9Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.
10Thy congregation hath dwelt therein: thou, O God, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor.
11The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.
I know there are two message God has called me to preach: Revival Fire of God and the Open Heaven. Like Kenneth Copeland preaches on faith, these are my messages. I can start out preaching on tithes and offerings and I’m going to end up on Fire and and an Open Heaven.

This passage describes the blessings of an open heaven. Verse nine says when God send the rain, it will confirm His inheritance, or in our case, the saints of God.

Verse ten reveals the provision of the open heaven; “…thou…hast prepared of Thy goodness for the poor”.

Verse 11 shows there is a release to tell the Word of the Lord or, the story of the rain of God falling and what it brings.

But immediately the Spirit reminded me of reasons some people don’t like the rain.

Number One, for some the rain will be a distraction. I know in our Pastors training both here and in Guyana when the rain falls hard on a tin roof, you can barely hear yourself think, much less get anyone to hear you. Others are distracted buy the smell of rain or the force in which it falls.

Second, many are irritated by the rain. It messes up the roads, the kids will track in mud or leaves or grass. Others are irritated by the rain because they only want sunshine days.

But everyone gets the benefit of the rain!

Because of the rain we can wash our clothes, take a bath and wash our cars. Because of the rain, we can turn the facet on anytime we please and receive the benefit of the rain falling.

Because of the rain our rivers fill so fish can have a home, and crops are watered so we can have food.

It’s the same way spiritually. The rain of the Holy Spirit comes so we can be spiritually clean, wash our spiritual garments, and our spirit can be satisfied with spiritual food and water.

The Maasai land knows the value of rain. Without it their cattle would die and their crops would burn up.

Without the rain of the Holy Spirit, our spiritual lives would die and our faith would dry up.

As I gave the altar call over 2,000 people came forward and began to cry out for the rain of the Holy Spirit to fall. And when I said AMEN, the rain started falling. Literally.

Don’t tell me God can’t hear our cry!

Lord please let the rain from heaven fall upon my thirsty soul; let the rain from heaven fall on me…

Our pastors training in Kilgoris begins tomorrow…I think it will rain…
