Hearing The Voice of God

Thursday and Friday night we were honored to minister to a group of young people New Life Beginnings Church in Pattison Texas reaches out to weekly. Thursday night I gave my testimony combined with a short word from Luke 19 on Zacheus. Many filled the altar for prayer!

Tonight (Friday) I ministered a word the Lord spoke in my heart on Hearing The Voice of God. Real simple word but it stirred my heart to be open for Him to speak to me! Samuel was a child when God began to speak to him. Josephus says He was twelve (12). And Samuel didn't have Power Point, Youth Camps or conventions, no sound systems, no big screen TV, no count downs, no Wii, no Playstation… (before you email me I'm not against all that:); he simply had a mom who dedicated him to the Lord and that dedication produced a desire to serve God faithfully during a time in Temple history that was corrupt, perverted and out of control!

And even though Eli was so blind he couldn't see to give adequate instruction to Samuel on all the working of Temple life, he had enough spiritual insight left in him to know when God started calling Samuel; and told him how to respond to God when He called his name again!

Eli's blindness was not only physical; it was definately symbolic of the spiritual blindness he had willingly succombed to by refusing to deal with the sins of his sons (I Samuel 1,2) May God help us to see everything that needs to be repented of in our own lives…and repent! So our Father can give us the Spiritual sight we need to see His Kingdom established and His will be done on this earth as it is in heaven!

And may the children and young people of this generation know He is REAL!!!

And He still speaks to people of our generation!
