Guyana Update continues…

Our trip to Guyana was blessed with an increased water level in the rivers. The rainy season seemed to extend after an extremely dry-dry season. In February the rivers were the lowest I had ever seen them. In fact one of our partners in Florida told me he was ready to go with me on a trip until I wrote about my boat pushing experience I had on the February trip! The river height/depth truly proved to be prophetic as the level of the Spirit was also greater than any other time we have ministered in Guyana!

One of the highlights of the trip was an opportunity I had to meet with the leadership of the Assemblies of God in Guyana. They are under the leadership of Rev. John Smith, and have a great vision to touch their country with the power of the Holy Ghost. I am looking forward to working with them on some projects in the coming months!

As always we conducted ministry in approximately 30 different villages in just a few short days. That's not many according to American standards, but when you consider the only way to reach these villages is either by boat or by foot, this is really a phenomenal feat! So many salvations and deliverances took place we couldn't count them all! The Lord of the Harvest knows and He keeps good records and that's what is important!

But my most exciting moment was to see almost 140 pastors, wives and leaders gather together for edification, exhortation, comfort, and instruction during the pastor's seminars. There were almost 100 in attendance in the village of Wauna alone! That is the highest attendance for a single seminar in many years! It just proves to me the great cry of both pastors as well as people's hearts is to be a part of something based on relationships!

I am still trying to process everything that happened through my perspective. I hesitate to say too much because I don't want to sound self promoting or arrogant! But we really need some of what the Amerindian people have!

On Friday night in our closing service at Wauna, the worship began with a spirit of joy sweeping through the place. I stood and watched as approximately 175 plus Amerindians danced and shouted and rejoiced…not because the music was "driving them"…they danced and shouted and rejoiced for almost 90 minutes because the were so happy for the visit and the instruction from the Word of God they had received over the last three days! As I watched the Presence of God continuously sweep over the congregation, I thought "…these people act like you've given them a million dollars!" Many of them, the clothes they wore to church that night were the only clothes they have to their names!

As Pam stated in her post, they have nothing, but have contagious joy; we have everything or access to anything and everything we want and are never satisfied! God do a work in us that we would truly know, it's not by might, nor by power but by My Spirit says the Lord!
