Conflict and The Critical Spirit

Today was another great day at the Maasai Vocational Pastors Training here in Kilgoris Kenya.

Dave Johnson has been teaching some of the soundest teaching on healing I've heard. I wish we would have had the capability to record the sessions…I would love to hear them again myself!

I am a teaching through Acts…rather slowly. I've actually taught more than I have preached this time! Many would be proud of me!

Our focus today came to Acts 15 when the Jerusalem Church Council had to deal with the issue of Gentiles keeping circumcision and the Law of Moses. Conflict is a part of living. No way around it. But it's how you respond to conflict that many times makes or breaks you as a leader.

So many situations I have handled the wrong way over the years. And for that I am truly sorry. I have learned Jesus wasn't talking smack when He said to whom much is given much is required. As a leader we must go the extra mile in patience, mercy and forgiveness when dealing with people.

Some people are never going to be happy no matter how they are handled. You could let them have everything they wanted, and they would still find something wrong with the way you gave it to them.

I think the spirit of the age has gripped the church world so strong, that we have lost the art of honor and respect for one another. We no longer seem to be able to disagree with being disagreeable. This Christmas season, may we seek God for the gift of respect and human kindness. A fresh baptism of love. May we reject the critical spirit the world is flowing in now and let the love of God be shed abroad in our heart once again….

Let. Brotherly Love. Continue.

Kaibou Sana!
